The U.S. Marshals Service identified the man taken into custody Friday in connection to a Mesa homicide. Joseph Pratt, 46, was wanted for weapon violations and a recent Mesa homicide, and was identified by the Arizona WANTED Violent Offender Task Force in Globe, Ariz., according to authorities. When officers approached to make contact, Pratt shot at officers and then barricaded himself inside of a residence, firing off several more shots "with no regard of the safety of the community," said U.S. Marshal Matthew Tate.
