Obituaries Oct 5, 2023 Daniel was born February 1, 1948, in Marshalltown, Iowa, to Robert W. Ray and Margie M. (Bostian) Ray, of Toledo, Iowa. Dan attended and graduated in 1966 from South Tama County School. Dan joined the U.S. Navy June 10, 1967. He served as EM2(SS). He was proud of the fact that he served on two submarines; the USS Sennett, SS498, and the USS Harder, SS 568. His naval career took him to the South Pacific, North Pacific and Viet Nam. He received an honorable discharge April 1, 1971.
